This letter was written by John Leslie as Secretary of Edinburgh branch of the Social Democratic Federation and accompanies the printed circular describing arrangements for the conference of Scottish socialist societies on 2 December 1888 at Moulder’s Hall in Edinburgh, and the subsequent formation of a new socialist organisation in Scotland.
