One hundred years of Labour

The archives of the University of Huddersfield hold a number of collections that shed light on the history of the Labour Party.

21 July 1891 Colne Valley Division Labour Union formed.

One of the key collections is of the Colne Valley Labour Party 1891-1970. This archive is very important for the study of labour history and for the wider social history of West Yorkshire. It includes information on local figures linked to national politics, among them Tom Mann, Philip Snowden and Victor Grayson.
